Stockton Town Centre played host to an extra-large game of ‘hook-a-duck’, face painting and special visits from costumed characters on Saturday (27 May) as part of the annual Love Your Local Market campaign.

Complementing all that was on offer at the town centre’s traditional market, the family fun day offered shoppers the chance to win prizes and pick up goodies in unique shopping bags.

The Love Your Local Market campaign is coordinated by the National Association of British Market Authorities aims to raise the profile of markets, encourage start-up businesses and increase young people’s involvement in markets.

The Borough’s traditional markets have been bringing visitors into town centres for over 700 years and they’re located in Billingham, Stockton and Thornaby.
