Organisers of SIRF 17 are calling for people across Stockton-on-Tees to help create the 30th birthday edition of the Community Carnival t-shirt.
30 designs will be shortlisted and incorporated into the imagery on the t-shirt which will be worn by musicians and community groups participating in the “Fizz, Bang, Pop - Happy birthday!” carnival, on Saturday 5 August.
Budding artists can visit www.sirf.co.uk/carnival to download a doodle template and submit their 30th birthday themed ideas.
Director of Culture, Events and Leisure at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, Reuben Kench, said: “SIRF is celebrating a very special birthday this year and we want as many people as possible to be part of it.
“SIRF’s Community Carnival is the Tees Valley’s largest community celebration and there are so many ways to join in ranging from costume making, to dancing, playing a musical instrument or singing. Helping to design the t-shirt is yet another way to get involved so we are encouraging everyone to download a template and send us their design."
The deadline for people to submit their ideas is Wednesday 7 June.
The 30 short-listed drawings will then be worked into a final t-shirt design by North East Illustrator, Daniel Weatheritt.
