'Hidden' young carers exhibition set for ARC

Wednesday, March 01, 2017

YOUNG carers from Stockton-on-Tees are featured in a nationwide photography exhibition coming to the Borough this week.

The youngsters, who are supported by Eastern Ravens Trust, were photographed for the portrait exhibition ‘Hidden’.

It tells the story of England’s young carers and will be on show at ARC in Stockton from Friday, March 3 until Saturday, March 11. Entry is free.

Tracey Hamilton, Eastern Ravens Trust Manager, said: “I hope the exhibition makes people think about the lives of children and young people who are providing care to family members.

“It’s a great opportunity to gain an understanding of how and why young carers need additional support.”

‘Hidden’ is part of The Big Lottery funded Young Carers in Focus programme (YCIF) project led by The Children’s Society.
