green waste collections start

Green waste collections for households across Stockton Borough are returning.

The kerbside service will run fortnightly from Monday 17 April and will be collected on the same day as all other recycling.

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Housing, Councillor Mike Smith, said: “With spring finally here it is the perfect time for our residents to start work in their gardens. These kerbside collections are an excellent service as they provide an easy and convenient way to dispose of green waste.”

All refuse, recycling and green waste should be out before 7am on the morning of collection.

Additional green waste bags can be purchased from Billingham, Stockton and Thornaby Customer Service Centres at a cost of £3 per roll.
