SIRF17’s 30th Birthday Community Carnival t-shirt has been revealed.

Earlier this year schools, community groups and budding artists from across Stockton-on-Tees were invited to submit ideas for the t-shirt design.

53 designs were shortlisted and together they have formed a 30th Birthday Cake print to celebrate SIRF's birthday.

The t-shirt will be worn by musicians and community groups participating in the “Fizz, Bang, Pop – Happy birthday!” carnival next Saturday (5 August).

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, Councillor Norma Wilburn, said: “This year’s t-shirt is a very special limited edition and the finished design reflects SIRF’s big birthday perfectly.

“Everyone who helped create it has done a fantastic job – it is going to look fabulous on carnival day.”

A limited number of the t-shirts will be available to buy subject to availability alongside a selection of other merchandise.  They will be on sale from 3-6 August at the Rediscover Stockton shop on Stockton High Street and will cost £4 for children and £6.50 for adults.
