Volunteers from across the Tees Valley are preparing to take part in Stockton International Riverside Festival’s 30th birthday finale.

Inimitable British show makers Cirque Bijou are set to dazzle audiences with their ground-breaking high wire spectacle set against the stunning backdrop of Trinity Church. The heart stopping show stars Jade Kindar-Martin, who will perform his record-making, unique and daring Fire Wire act.

Cirque Bijou will bring together internationally renowned circus artists on two high wires accompanied by a choir performing a special arrangement commissioned for SIRF, spectacular special effects and a dancing sea of colour changing umbrellas.

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, Councillor Norma Wilburn, said: “What better way to bring SIRF’s 30th birthday celebrations to a close than this breath-taking show which will combine colour, flame, song and involve around 100 volunteers.

“We are very excited about bringing this unique high wire spectacle to SIRF which gives our audiences the opportunity to see some of the world’s most exciting high wire and aerial artists perform.”

SIRF takes place between Thursday 3 and Sunday 6 August.

See Cirque Bijou on Sunday 6 August at 10pm on Trinity Green.
