windlestone road parade

A Billingham shopping parade is having a makeover!

The improvement works at Windlestone Road are part of a Borough-wide shopping parade enhancement programme which will see Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council upgrade paving, seating, landscaping and will create additional parking.

Councillor Nigel Cooke, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, said: “Shoppers to Windlestone Road will see that the preparatory work has now started to enhance the parade and surrounding area.  We have invested in this improvement programme across the Borough because local residents really value the shops in their communities. When complete the parade will boast new paving, improved parking, new street furniture and trees.”

The Council is also carrying out works on footpaths at the front of High Newham Court in Hardwick to improve safety for pedestrians. Work to rejuvenate Redhill Road shops in Roseworth is now complete.
