Stockton's popular Enterprise Arcade has a new name – and here’s what you can find inside!
‘Fountain Shopping Mall - Home of the Enterprise Arcade’ was officially unveiled by the Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees, Councillor Maurice Perry on Saturday (9 December).
The stunning building at 35 - 37 High Street offers fledging businesses the opportunity to test their retail ideas with a support package aimed at nurturing new retail business.
Councillor Bob Cook, Leader of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, said: “This beautiful building’s new name is symbolic of what we are creating in Stockton - and that’s a town centre with a difference.
“We’re really proud to have national high street names such as Debenhams and Boots in our town centre but we also do all we can to encourage entrepreneurial spirit and support people to get their retail ideas off the ground. Fountain Shopping Mall is the ideal place for young businesses to test their trade and access business support, marketing and financial advice as well as enjoy a prime location by the fountain on our award-winning High Street.
“Since opening in 2011, we’ve had many independent traders through the doors. We are delighted to welcome our 70th tenant to a town centre that’s already home to specialist and traditional markets, and to all manner of businesses. I’d encourage everyone to come along to Fountain Shopping Mall and see what you can find inside.”
