FESTIVE fun is once again on the agenda this Sunday (10 December) as Santa and his entourage of reindeers arrive in Stockton Town Centre.
At 2pm, Santa will be on his sleigh at Thistle Green and joined by his faithful reindeer to make his way onto Church Road and down the High Street before stopping at Stockton Town Hall in a glistening parade.
The theme of this year’s parade is one of a Victorian Christmas to complement the Victorian Fair so expect festive costumes, classic Christmas songs and dance from the community groups, local primary schools and arts groups who will join Santa and his reindeers.
There will be opportunity for everyone to meet the reindeers while they rest outside of Stockton Town Hall.
Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: “Stockton Sparkles has been an amazing success already this year and the reindeer parade will be another wonderful event to help get everyone fully in the Christmas spirit.
“The parade is always very popular and it is a special opportunity to see and meet the reindeer as Stockton Town Centre comes alive with festive cheer as we near the big day.
“I’d encourage everyone to come down on the day and experience this magical event as well as visiting the many shops, cafes and eateries that will be waiting to welcome them.”
The Reindeer Parade is part of Stockton Sparkles, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s winter festival.
