Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council to consider governance of Grindon Parish Council

Thursday, April 27, 2017

A full meeting of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is set to consider the future governance of Grindon Parish Council.
Earlier this year all registered local government electors living within Grindon Parish (including Grindon, Thorpe Thewles, The Elms and Wynyard) were asked to give their views on whether the parish should become two separate parishes.
The consultation is part of a Community Governance Review which was prompted after Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council received a community governance petition requesting the change.
Earlier this month the Council’s Cabinet studied the feedback and now the findings will go before the full Council on Wednesday (3 May) before consultation on the draft proposals is held later this year.
The final recommendation and reasons for the decision will be published in summer 2017.
Further information about the review can be found at
