Look out for your Tees Valley Mayoral election booklet

Tuesday, April 11, 2017

A PRINTED booklet packed with information about next month’s Mayoral election for the Tees Valley Combined Authority will be delivered to households this week.

The booklet which contains information about the candidates, the Mayor’s role, the election, and how to vote, will land on doormats from Thursday (April 13) onwards.

Combined Authority Returning Officer, David Bond, said: “We are required by law to send a copy of the booklet to each person entitled to vote at the election.

“As a result of this legal requirement, households in which there is more than one eligible voter will receive more than one copy.”

There is still time to register to vote in the election, which takes place on Thursday, May 4.

Individuals who are not on the electoral register must apply to register by Thursday (April 13) to ensure they can vote in the election.

Those who are registered to vote and would like to vote by post must apply by 5pm on Tuesday, April 18.

Those who are registered to vote and would like to vote by proxy must apply by 5pm on Tuesday, April 25.

Registration takes just a few minutes and requires people to provide their date of birth and National Insurance number.

Registration can be completed online at or hard copy registration forms can be requested from your local council’s elections team.
