THE ANNUAL Diwali-inspired Festival of Light and Colour returns to Stockton on Wednesday 2 November.
The free event, starting at 6pm, will feature a performance of music and light at the fountain area on Stockton High Street which follows the journey of the great warrior Prince Rama and his beautiful wife Sita.
The performance will come to a close around 6.35pm with a finale that will lift the spirits and awaken the senses before visitors will enjoy music, entertainment and traditional food at Stockton Central Library from 6.40pm until 7.45pm.
The festival is organised by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council in association with representatives from the Hindu Cultural Society.
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, Councillor Norma Wilburn, said: “The Festival of Light and Colour is a much loved part of our year-round events programme and I’m sure there’ll be many people there to enjoy another fantastic performance.
“I’m particularly looking forward to the performance taking place near to the fountains on the High Street. This is an area that was designed to host special events during the regeneration of Stockton Town Centre and it’ll be brilliant to see it being used to create another stunning visual spectacle.”
