REMEMBRANCE services will be held across the Borough on Sunday 13 November to pay respects to those who gave their lives in both World Wars and more recent conflicts.
A church service will take place at Stockton Parish Church and people wishing to attend should arrive for 10.00am. A Parade will move off to meet the Church congregation for a service at the Cenotaph beside the Parish Church at 10.50am. Those who wish to watch the Parade and pay their respects at the Cenotaph should assemble at 10.30am. At this service, the Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees, Councillor Ken Dixon, will lay a wreath on behalf of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.
The Deputy Mayor, members of the Thornaby Branch of the Royal British Legion and members of the public should assemble at the Aerodrome Club car park (Old Legion) on Queen’s Avenue for the Parade which will set off at around 10.15am. The parade will march to a service at the Cenotaph, Acklam Road at 10.45am when the Deputy Mayor will lay a wreath on behalf of Stockton-on-Tees.
A service will be held in the Parish Church on West Street at 9.30am followed by a procession along West Street, Bridge Street and the High Street for a short service, Roll of Honour and wreath laying ceremony at the War Memorial at 10.50am. The service at the war memorial will be followed by a procession along the High Street.
The Parade will assemble in the car park of the Salutation Pub between 10.15am and 10.30am before moving off along Station Road for a service at the Cenotaph on Station Road at 10.55am.
A service will be held at St John the Baptist Parish Church on Butts Lane at 10.00am. This will be followed by a short service and wreath laying at the Cenotaph outside the church at 10.55am.
A service will be held at the Cenotaph at 2.30pm.
A service will be held at All Saints Church on Dunottar Avenue at 9.45am. The Parade will then proceed to the Cenotaph on Victoria Road to lay wreaths at 11.00am.
A service will be held in St Peter’s Church on West Hartlepool Road at 10.15am, with a procession to the war memorial for the laying of the wreath at 10.45am.
A service of remembrance will take place at The Church of St Martin and St Hilary on Forest Lane at 10.30am followed by an Act of Remembrance at the Richardson Grave.
A service will be held at Stillington Cenotaph on Messines Lane at 12 noon.
A Remembrance Sunday Service will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Barwick Way at 10am. The service will be followed by a walk to the war memorial (sited adjacent to the main entrance into Romano Park) for a short service and the laying of wreaths at 11am.
