TWO NEW courses are on offer from Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Learning and Skills Service.
The team have joined forces with the Central Locality Forum to offer an eight week course covering a range of sports and fitness topics including personal training, sports nutrition and football coaching.
This course begins on Monday 7 November at Ragworth Neighbourhood Centre. Interested individuals are advised to call the Learning and Skills Service as soon as possible.
The second new course available, in partnership with the Eastern Locality Forum, offers people the chance to learn new cooking skills, prepare healthy meals on a budget and the opportunity to give something back to their community.
The hands-on cooking workshops will help learners to cook using different ingredients and, at the end of the course, everyone’s new skills will be put to use in preparing Christmas lunch to be served at a local food bank.
This six week course begins on Thursday 3 November at 9.30am with an introduction session. Interested people will be transported free of charge from the Robert Atkinson Centre to The Hub on Havelock Street in Thornaby for enrolment. An outline of the course will be given and cooking will take place until 12.15pm.
Both courses are free of charge.
