EU referendum voter registration deadline extended

Residents in Stockton Borough who are not already registered to vote still have time to sign up so they can take part in the EU referendum.

The referendum on the UK’s membership of the European Union will take place on Thursday 23 June 2016.

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is encouraging people who are not already registered to vote to do so by the new deadline of midnight on Thursday 9 June.

Residents can register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or call the Voter Registration Helpline on 01642 526196.

Registration takes just a few minutes and requires people to provide their date of birth and National Insurance number. 

Voters who are already registered to vote are being reminded that they do not need to register again for the EU Referendum on 23 June.

Any voters who require any additional information are advised to go to www.stockton.gov.uk/eureferendum or www.aboutmyvote.co.uk
