Harry Potter fans across the Borough are being invited to embrace the magic and banish the midwinter blues at a unique free event at Stockton Central Library.

On Thursday 4 February, from 4pm to 7pm, residents are being offered a rare chance to share the wonder of J.K. Rowling’s seven iconic books.

It will also be an ideal opportunity for the next generation of readers to fall in love with the books and to experience the magic of the Harry Potter world and its characters.

A host of activities and features will be on offer including:

  • a prize draw for those in fancy dress
  • wildlife including owls, snakes, lizards and rats from Kirkleatham Owl Centre
  • a magician
  • a Harry Potter quiz to test your knowledge and win prizes
  • face painting and other crafts
  • sweets and treats from the Remember Me Tea Rooms

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, Councillor Norma Wilburn, said: “I have no doubt that this will be a fantastic evening for book lovers and Harry Potter fans.

“The hugely popular series continues to captivate readers of all ages and there will be plenty on offer at our Harry Potter event to entertain visitors young and old.

“Come along and embrace the magic, meet some wildlife and share your love of the books with fellow enthusiasts for a chance to win some great prizes.”
