Visitors to Stockton Town Centre’s traditional market will be in for a treat this Saturday as Stockton Sparkles continues to bring a touch of Christmas magic to the High Street.
On 17 December Daisy the Duck and her helpers will be in the Town Centre handing out mince pies and other Christmas treats to shoppers browsing the stalls. Market stall holders will also be taking part in a seasonal competition with the ‘best dressed stall’ holder named on the day.
The High Street will be filled with the sound of music and voice as the Salvation Army and Stockton Parish Church’s Community Choir perform Christmas carols and festive favourites.
Councillor Nigel Cooke, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, said: “With Christmas around the corner there are just days left to pick up last minute presents and for those ready to wind down for the holiday period there will be plenty to get you in the festive mood with yuletide music and mince pies on offer. Stockton Town Centre’s traditional market stall holders will also be a jolly sight as they get into the Christmas spirit by decorating their stalls.”
The last traditional market of 2016 will be held on Christmas Eve, Saturday 24 December.
