The new website is more accessible, user-friendly and mobile compatible, it also includes the new ‘My Stockton’ feature which allows residents of the Borough to register using their home address for a personalised view of information on the website. ‘My Stockton’ provides information such as ward Councillor details, bin collection days, council tax band and also allows for easier access to online service requests and monitoring of progress. So if you live in the Borough please register for ‘My Stockton’ and try it out.
The website itself is still structured around the Council’s themes and includes much of the same content as the previous site. What has changed is the look and feel of the website and the platform on which it operates so that information can be found more quickly. The new site has a stronger search tool, homepage tabs promoting the most popular tasks and pages, and ‘most popular’ lists on each theme page. The site has also been re-designed to maximise its usability on mobile devices, it is now fully responsive to different sizes of device.
Whilst this is a significant step forward for the site, we are conscious that there is always room for improvement and that technology is always evolving.
