This release has been issued on behalf of Stockton Farmers' Market
Saturday shoppers are in for a tasty treat at the first Stockton Farmers’ Market of the year on Saturday 28 March.
The popular monthly market is celebrating its fifth birthday with a brand new home on the newly revamped High Street, bringing a tasty mix of great locally produced food right into the heart of the town centre.
A mouth-watering array of stalls will include freshly baked bread & cakes, gingerbread, jam, fudge, chocolate, Skinningrove Wines, Durham Venison & Game, gourmet free-range scotch eggs, a gluten-free bakery, and a selection of beef, pork, sausages and pies direct from Market favourites Broom Mill Farm from Lower Teesdale.
Market Manager Lorna Jackson said: “We can’t wait to get cracking again in Stockton. I love Stockton town centre! I love the town’s market history and tradition, and it’s great to be a part of that tradition.
“And we’re especially happy to be part of the brand new High Street, which is just looking fantastic. I was in town on Saturday for the grand opening of the new fountain and the place was just buzzing.
“But, more than that, people make places and there’s real sense of positivity around the town that I find inspiring.
“I find something new every time I visit Stockton. There’s a whole bundle of new small independent shops, cafes and micro pubs that have emerged over the last couple of years – both on the High Street itself and up and down the surrounding alleys and yards – it’s a great place to explore and find your own favourite place. We always enjoy the day.”
