Big plans, bright future

Have your say on the Borough's highways and transport

Tuesday, June 30, 2015

Residents across Stockton-on-Tees are being encouraged to have their say in a comprehensive highway and transport survey.

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council has joined up with 86 other local authorities nationally to produce the survey which will seek residents’ views on local roads, footpaths and public transport.

More than 3000 questionnaires will be posted out across the Borough to residents chosen at random by market research specialist, Ipsos MORI.

Residents who receive the questionnaire can complete the survey on line if they prefer by following a short URL link printed on the front of the questionnaire and entering a unique code.

Councillor David Rose, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, said: “If you receive a survey we’d really like to hear your views. Completing and returning the survey is really important because it not only tells us what people think about the Borough’s roads and public transport networks, and how these can be improved, but it can also influence the amount of investment the Government allocates to Stockton-on-Tees for highways improvements and maintenance.

“We know the upkeep of our roads and pavements is important to our residents and we are committed to making sure that our highways are safe and well maintained. We urge people who receive a survey to take part because these results will help us further plan for the future.”

The deadline for returning the questionnaire is Saturday 15 August and results of the survey will be available online in the autumn.
