Stockton Council is delivering value for money.
On Thursday (15 January), Stockton Council’s Cabinet will hear that is the outcome of the Council’s 2013/14 Annual Audit.
The Audit was carried out by external auditors, Mazars LLP, on behalf of the Audit Commission.
The Annual Audit letter says: “Our work allowed us to satisfy ourselves that against the backdrop of the continued unprecedented change and challenges of recent years, that the Council has maintained proper arrangements for securing value for money in its use of resources during the year.”
Stockton Council’s Cabinet Member for Corporate Management and Finance, Councillor David Harrington, said: “I’m really pleased that the Audit Letter is so positive and recognises that we are continuing to deliver value for money despite the significant challenges we continue to face.
“It was particularly reassuring that the letter acknowledges our innovative approach of developing new partnerships, joint ventures and ‘invest to save’ initiatives to help maintain services, particularly those which help to keep our most vulnerable residents safe.”
