Magic for muggles guaranteed at Harry Potter book night

Harry Potter fans from across the Borough are being invited to embrace the magic and banish the midwinter blues at a unique free event at Stockton Central Library.

On Thursday 5 February, from 4pm to 7pm, residents are being offered a rare chance to share the wonder of J.K. Rowling's seven iconic books.

It will also be an ideal opportunity for the next generation of readers to fall in love with the books and to experience the magic of the Harry Potter world and its characters.

A host of activities and features will be on offer including:

a prize draw for those in fancy dress
wildlife including owls, snakes, lizards and rats from Kirkleatham Owl Centre a magician
a Harry Potter quiz to test your knowledge and win prizes
face painting and other crafts
sweets and treats from the Remember Me Tea Rooms

Stockton Council's Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, Councillor Ken Dixon, said: "I have no doubt that this will be an unforgettable evening for Harry Potter fans and book lovers alike.

"The series has crossed over the generation gap and this Stockton Libraries event promises to have plenty to entertain young and old.

"So do come along in your wizard's robes and share your love of the magical series with others for the chance to win some fabulous prizes. It's set to be a night of magical fun!"
