Stockton Council is launching a public consultation today, Monday 16 February, which is seeking the views of residents and families about the care home services available to older people in the Borough.
The consultation is open to current residents of the care homes as well as family members, friends and other interested parties.
Current residents, family members, friends and other individuals can access two surveys on the Council's website at www.stockton.gov.uk/carehomeconsultation
Councillor Jim Beall, Stockton Council's Cabinet Member for Adult Services and Health, said: "I would like to encourage residents to share with us their thoughts and opinions about the 36 commissioned care homes available for our older people.
"We strive to ensure our older residents are able to access care homes which provide them with a first class service."
"As such, we strongly welcome the views of both residents and their families and friends to help us to continue to develop and improve our care homes."
The consultation will also work with the independent, voluntary and community sectors, alongside local health partners, to ensure that future arrangements continue to address the social and nursing care needs of residents.
All surveys and comments must be returned by 27 March 2015.
