Stockton Council is reminding parents and carers about a series of upcoming public meetings where they can have their say on proposed school admission arrangements for 2016/17.
The proposals have generated significant interest and the Council announced last week its decision to extend the consultation until 28 February in order for as many views to be gathered as possible.
The four additional meetings are for parents and carers living in the Egglescliffe School zone.
The meeting for Ingleby Barwick parents and carers will take place tomorrow (5 February) from 5.30pm to 7pm at All Saints CE Academy on Blair Avenue.
The public meetings for parents and carers from Eaglescliffe and the Western Parishes villages of Carlton, Elton, Long Newton and Redmarshall will take place next week as follows:
• Monday 9 February, from 5.30pm to 7pm at Egglescliffe School, Urlay Nook Road, Eaglescliffe
• Wednesday 11 February, from 5.30pm to 7pm at the Wilson Centre, Darlington Road, Long Newton
• Thursday 12 February, from 5.30pm to 7pm at The Links Primary School, Carnoustie Drive, Eaglescliffe
Copies of the consultation document will be available at the meetings as well as paper copies of the consultation survey for people to fill in and express their views on the proposals. The survey can also be completed online.
The consultation, which seeks the opinions of parents and carers on proposed school admission arrangements, follows a Scrutiny Review by the Council’s Children and Young People Select Committee.
