Safety Event in Stockton Town Centre

Thursday, February 19, 2015

Visitors to Stockton Town Centre will notice a number of activities to raise awareness about pedestrian safety next Wednesday (25 February).

The event will take place in the High Street car park between 10am and 2pm and will give visitors the opportunity to talk to bus operators and police about a range of pedestrian safety issues.

Road Safety GB North East leaflets will also be distributed as part of the organisation's region-wide "Check out before you step out" campaign.

Stockton Council's Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, Councillor Mike Smith, said: "This event has been organised as part of a regional campaign to highlight what we can all do to help keep ourselves safe when we are out and about in towns and cities across the region.  If you are in Stockton on Wednesday it will be well worth a look."
