best dressed window competition

Shops across Stockton Town Centre got into the festive spirit at the weekend by dressing their windows with festive decorations for the ‘Best Dressed Christmas Window’ competition.

Photos of the most attractive window displays have been uploaded onto Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s and Rediscover Stockton’s Facebook pages.  Visit www.facebook.com/stocktoncouncil or www.facebook.com/RediscoverStockton to like a favourite.

The competition, which took place during the second weekend of Stockton Sparkles, marked Small Business Saturday, a national campaign designed to encourage people to support small local businesses.

Leader of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, Councillor Bob Cook, said: “So many of our Town Centre businesses got into the festive spirit and produced festive window displays which looked attractive and inviting to visitors and shoppers. Now you can show support for our superb selection of independent shops and favourite high street stores by voting for your favourite best dressed window by liking it online.”

Stockton Sparkles continues this coming weekend with more street theatre and the ever-popular Reindeer Parade. For more information and to view the full programme of Stockton Sparkles visit www.stockton.gov.uk/stocktonsparkles
