Happy Birthday! Enjoyable start to brand new season for Stockton Farmers’ Market
Foodie fans and Saturday shoppers helped Stockton Farmers’ Market enjoy a busy day at its brand new home on the High Street yesterday. (Saturday 27 Sept).
And stallholder Keith Bond of Gluten Free Foods had a day to remember, after his fellow market traders helped him celebrate his first anniversary of trading at Stockton.
Keith, who runs the stall with his partner Mandy Cole, said: “It’s been a lovely day, and it was really heart-warming to receive a lovely card and flowers from all the other fantastic stallholders to mark our first anniversary of being here at Stockton.
“There’s always a really good feeling around the Farmers’ Market here, a lovely team of people to work with, and we love being part of it all.”
Market organiser Lorna Jackson said: “Keith and Mandy are lovely to have around, and it’s great to have brilliant gluten free specialists like them on board.
“It’s been a really enjoyable day here on our new High Street home. We’ve met some lovely new people, and one of the best things about the Farmers’ Market is being able to chat away with people who share our passion for good local food.
“One of our shoppers was telling us how they were looking forward to settling down on Saturday night with some wild venison and a glass of locally produced red Elderberry Wine. Try finding anything like that in one of the big name shops!
“Fantastic local foodies selling good local food that’s hard to find elsewhere really helps us stand out from the crowd, and it really brings something different to the town centre. We can’t wait for our next Market to come around.”
