Residents and visitors to Stockton Borough are encouraged to get ready for a rock spectacular at this year’s annual firework display on bonfire night, Wednesday 5 November.
Fireworks Legendary rock classics from past decades will set the scene for an explosive array of pyrotechnics which will start from Stockton’s Riverside with a live BBC Tees radio roadshow. There will be special appearances from X Factor’s Kerrianne Covell and BBC Children in Need mascot, Pudsey Bear plus a live performance from local folk-inspired band The Jar Family. There will also be a fun fair and a range of food stalls.
From 6pm BBC Tees presenters will kick start the entertainment. The stunning firework display will follow lighting Stockton’s skyline in a blaze of light and colour from 7.30pm for around 25 minutes.
Councillor Ken Dixon, Stockton Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: “The free display which is usually enjoyed by more than 25,000 people in and around Stockton’s Riverside will once again bring exciting entertainment and a magnificent pyrotechnic display to the Town Centre.
“Stockton Council is proud to host one of the biggest free firework displays in the country so make sure you wrap up warm and come and join us for one of the highlights of the Borough’s events calendar.
“It’s much safer and cheaper to come to an organised fireworks event than have your own display so bring family and friends down to the Riverside for a fun night out.” For more information visit www.stockton.gov.uk/events
