The physical regeneration of Stockton Town Centre will be complete by spring 2015 so residents and businesses are being encouraged to learn more about the final stages.
A drop-in session will take place on Wednesday 22 October between 10am and 12pm at the Rediscover Stockton Shop on Stockton High Street.
There will be an opportunity to find out about the next phases of works and see some artist's impressions of what the High Street will look like next year.
Anyone who attends will also hear about a number of up-coming plans for the town centre including:
- Small Business Saturday
- Stockton Sparkles events and Christmas market
- Late night opening
- Specialist markets
- The new, larger Enterprise Arcade at 35-37 High Street
Stockton Council's Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, Councillor Mike Smith, said: "We are delighted that all of the works remain on target to be complete by next spring when the stylish water feature which is currently being built in the centre of the High Street is set to be unveiled.
"I hope town centre businesses and residents living on or close to the High Street will come along to the drop-in session so they are fully informed about the improvement works which are planned for the end of this year and the beginning of next.
"It is going to be an exciting few months as not only is the town centre physically changing the atmosphere is too. It is becoming much more vibrant, enticing and welcoming. Residents, visitors and businesses have been very patient throughout the last two and a half years so we would like to thank them for that and I'm sure they will benefit from the improvements for many generations to come."
