Try a new fitness challenge with Stockton Council

Monday, March 03, 2014

Women and girls across Stockton Borough are being given another opportunity to try something new and give running a go.

Following the success of the last course, Stockton Council’s Leisure and Sports Development team will be holding a second beginners’ course to help women get into running.

Participants will be taught a variety of techniques and skills to help them achieve running distances of up to three miles. The course is designed for women who have no running experience and will include four ‘Run With Confidence’ sessions to support participants and build confidence as they progress.

The 10 week course will start on Tuesday 11 March from 5.45-6.30pm. Enrolment takes place at 6pm on Wednesday 5 March at Bannatynes Leisure Club, Myton Road, Ingleby Barwick, TS17 0WA.

Those who already have running experience are invited to take part in a three mile running session next week. From Monday 10 March participants will have the opportunity to join like-minded women to run up to three miles together. Enrolment takes place at 6pm tonight, Monday 3 March, at Bannatynes Leisure Club in Ingleby Barwick.

All courses are free of charge. For more information, contact Vicky Fawcett, Leisure & Sports Development Officer, on (01642) 524816 or email [email protected]
