Big plans, bright future

Residents asked for their views on healthy weight services

Tuesday, March 25, 2014

How can we support you in achieving or maintaining a healthy weight?

That’s what Stockton Council is asking residents across the Borough.

The Healthy Weight Services consultation is designed to hear their thoughts about healthy weight and associated services to make sure future services meet their needs.

Stockton Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Services and Health, Councillor Jim Beall, said: “Residents living across the Borough continue to face some significant health and well-being challenges, including serious weight related health complications.

“Maintaining a healthy weight throughout your life is important as we know that people who adopt healthy lifestyles are more likely to live longer, more fulfilling and happier lives. That’s why we want to hear from as many residents as possible so we can make sure the services we commission next year will effectively support them in adopting healthy lifestyles and therefore maintaining a healthy weight.”

The consultation document can be accessed at www.stockton.gov.uk/healthyweight and hard copies are also available to collect from libraries and customer service centres until 30 May 2014.
