Mayor has ball raising money for charity

Mayor of Stockton, Councillor Kathryn Nelson’s Charity Ball successfully raised £12,000 for her chosen charity and benevolent fund, when it took place on Friday, 28 February.

Around 250 people came to the charity ball at the Wynyard Rooms, Wynyard, to give their support to the Mayor’s charity - The Great North Air Ambulance – and the Mayor’s Benevolent Fund which supports local organisations and groups. Mayor of Stockton, Councillor Kathryn Nelson, said: “Everyone enjoyed the evening and I would like to extend my grateful thanks to all who attended to help raise money for my charities.

“I would also like to thank all the local businesses and organisations who donated generous prizes for the auction and helped make the evening such a great success.”

The proceeds from the event, along with other funds raised during the Mayoral Year, will be presented to the Great North Air Ambulance and the beneficiaries of the Benevolent Fund at Stockton Council’s Annual Council Meeting on 2 April 2014.
