Seating trial set to take place as part of Stockton regeneration

Thursday, August 08, 2013

Whilst Stockton Council’s £38million regeneration of Stockton High Street continues to take shape with new paving, lighting and street furniture now in place, a seating trial will take place at various locations along the High Street.

Temporary seating will be secured in a range of locations as part of the trial which aims to finalise the most preferred and best locations for seating in the High Street.

During the trial, the use of seating will be observed; the data from the trial will inform the development of a final layout plan. Once completed, the seating used throughout the trial will be used to upgrade seating in Stockton’s parks and open spaces.

Following the trial, the new permanent seating, which is currently under construction, will be installed as part of the ongoing phased work on the High Street due for completion in 2015.
