In Stockton's schools and colleges with A Level provision, 98 per cent or more of students have achieved A* to E grades - all above or in line with the national average.

Councillor Ann McCoy, Stockton Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "I would like to congratulate all Stockton Borough's young people on their fantastic achievements which are testament to the hard work of our pupils and the high quality teaching and learning offered across the Borough.

"Young people living across Stockton Borough have a rich choice of colleges and sixth forms - each with a different ethos and offering a wide range of learning opportunities. This diverse offer helps us meet the needs of our learners so they can take the next steps to successful futures. We wish them well!"

At Conyers, 98 per cent of students achieved A* to E grades. At Egglescliffe, Stockton Riverside College and Stockton Sixth Form College it was 99 per cent of students.
