Silver Surfers can get online at Stockton Library

Friday, January 29, 2010

SILVER Surfers are invited to head along for ITea and biscuits at a free event on Friday, 19 February.

Over 60s who would like to find out more about the Internet can meet at the Open Technology Centre, in Stockton Central Library from 10 until 11.30am.

Enjoy a cuppa and a biscuit and meet Open Technology staff who will be able to explain about setting up email accounts, searching for information on-line and watching television via the web.

Councillor Mary Womphrey, Stockton Council's Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: "This session is a great way to learn about the wonders of the web in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

"Being able to use the internet is a really useful skill and people will be able to keep in touch with friends and family across the world via email or learn about family history online - all with the click of a mouse."
