Run in England comes to Thornaby and Norton

Wednesday, January 06, 2010

A NEW scheme designed to make running accessible for all is coming to Thornaby and Norton.

'Run in England' is organised by England Athletics and supported by Stockton Council. The initiative aims to create running groups within communities, workplaces and schools to encourage, support and guide beginner runners and recreational runners who run or walk for fitness.

Working in partnership with clubs and communities 'Run in England' groups provide a welcoming social environment for male and female beginner runners in which people of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels can participate in running to improve their health and well-being.

The beginners course costs £40 - £20 annual membership to 'Run in England', and £20 up-front subs for the 10-week course.

The groups are lead by experienced leaders who are fully qualified and insured. Group members will also be covered by public liability insurance as part of their 'Run in England' membership package.
