Giant robot returns to Stockton Sparkles

Friday, December 10, 2010

CHRISTMAS shoppers in Stockton are set to be wowed yet again this weekend as a spectacular, 8 feet tall robot, returns to the town.

Titan will dance, sing and talk to people making their way around the town on Saturday.

The famous steel robot, who made his debut appearance in Stockton last weekend, has recently been on tour with boyband JLS and appeared in the Big Brother House in the summer.

Stockton Council's Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, Councillor Mary Womphrey, said: "Titan is one of the most impressive and unusual acts I have ever seen. He not only looks magnificent but he is entertaining too!

"He went down a storm with everyone last weekend and I hope even more people come out to meet him this Saturday."

Titan is part of a programme of free street theatre taking place in the town this Christmas as part of the Stockton Sparkles Festival organised by Stockton Council.

He will be in Stockton Town Centre at 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm on 11 and 18 December.
