INTERNATIONALLY renowned Mackenzie Thorpe is supporting charities close to Stockton's heart.
The Middlesbrough born artist is donating a limited edition print to the charity auction which will be held at the Mayor's Annual Charity Dinner Dance on Friday 4th February 2011.
The 32.5" by 27.5" lithograph titled, "See you Monday George" will be framed and Mackenzie will be personalising the print for the highest bidder, which will guarantee the piece will be both highly covetable and original in its own right.
There will also be an exhibition of some of Mackenzie's work at the event, he said: "I am delighted to be able to support these incredibly worthwhile causes.Stockton-on-Tees Mayor Councillor Colin Leckonby and local artist McKenzie Thorpe
"I'm sure the night will be a great success and I hope lots of people dig deep to help these organisations to continue their fantastic work."
The Mayor and Mayoress of Stockton-on-Tees are hosting the dinner dance in aid of the Mayor's charities which include The Stockton Cornerhouse Youth Project, the Dave Rayner Cycling Fund and other smaller local charities.
The Mayor, Councillor Colin Leckonby, said: "I would like to thank Mackenzie for his generous gift and encourage people to take part in the auction so they can have the opportunity to own a unique piece of artwork from such a talented artist.
"The Charity Dinner Dance is a great way for people to have a wonderful evening while raising funds for organisations which help people living across the Borough."
The Dinner Dance will be held at The Wynyard Rooms at Wynyard Park House from 7pm on Friday 4 February.
Tickets cost £50 and include a four course meal and entertainment from the Anna Reay band.
There are also sponsorship opportunities for any individual or business who would like to donate prizes or cash for the charity auctions and draws.
