Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees opens Fairytale Dress shop
Anyone looking for their dream wedding or prom dress at an affordable price need look no further than Stockton Town Centre.
On Saturday (8 April) the Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees, Councillor Maurice Perry and Mayoress Mrs Laraine Perry officially opened The Fairytale Dress Shop based in the Enterprise Arcade.
The Mayor said: "The Fairytale Dress shop is a wonderful addition to the Enterprise Arcade and Stockton Town Centre.
"It was a pleasure to open the shop and meet Alice. Her enthusiasm shone through and I'm certain she will ensure every customer enjoys looking for their perfect dress."
41 year old Alice Crallan from Ingleby Barwick decided to set up The Fairytale Dress shop after working for Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council for 18 years, she said: "I decided to leave the Council to pursue this venture as it seemed like the perfect opportunity.
"I've been married in the past and bought an expensive dress and will get married again next year but don't want an expensive dress. Having looked around I realised there isn't anywhere to purchase low cost dresses for weddings or mother of the bride or prom dresses.
"There is a variety of low cost dresses online but you can't try them on so I decided to purchase dresses online to sell in my shop for under £100. There are changing rooms so you can try the dresses on and have that fairytale experience we all deserve at an affordable price."
The Fairytale Dress shop is one of seven businesses currently based in the Enterprise Arcade.
Also trading there are Shakes Ice Cream Café, Eyebrows by Joanne, Emmsgems, What a Mug!, Homecut Designs, Carolyn's Creations & Gifts and Just Believe.
The Enterprise Arcade opening hours are Monday-Saturday, 9.30am-5pm.
