Local plan ready for public examination
The Local Plan for Stockton-on-Tees will be examined in public in June.
Inspector Matthew Birkinshaw has been appointed by the Government to determine whether it is sound.
The Local Plan sets out a vision for the future development of Stockton-on-Tees in relation to housing, the economy, community facilities and infrastructure up to 2032.
The public examination will start on 5 June in the Council's Jim Cooke Conference Suite, Municipal Buildings, Church Road, Stockton and is expected to last three weeks.
As part of the examination process the inspector will consider all representations made to the plan and the hearing sessions will provide an opportunity for the inspector to examine specific matters in more detail.
Following the public examination further consultation may take place on changes suggested by the Inspector before the Local Plan is put forward for adoption at a meeting of the full Council.
