Adoption Tees Valley (ATV) is the Regional Adoption Agency for the 5 Local Authorities of Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Stockton.

ATV is seeking suitably qualified and experienced Social Workers to be part of the pool of Casual Assessors, who can undertake temporary work when requested, to help the service progress timely assessment of prospective adopters.

The Service has set ambitious targets for the number of adopters who are approved within the year, so that we can find families for the children who require adoption in the Tees Valley area and reduce delay in helping them to achieve permanence.

In order to meet our timescales we are recruiting to a pool of Casual Assessors, who will be willing to take on this work and be part of the extended team at ATV.

The role involves allocation meeting; undertaking the assessment, which currently is mostly through use of video conferencing; following up on checks and references; writing the PAR, presentation to panel and a handover visit.

Work is paid hourly, inclusive of holiday pay and our estimate is around 60 hours per assessment.

You will receive supervision on at least 3 occasions during the assessment along with induction training and ongoing training as required. You will also be invited to attend 2 hours team meeting per month which will enable you to maintain the team standards and communications.
