Validation checks

"The Town and Country Planning (General Development Procedure) (Amendment) (England) Order 2015" sets out specific details which need to accompany all Outline Planning applications.

You must make sure you take them in to account when applying for planning permission. Failure to do so will result in your planning application being made "invalid" and returned to you. We have tightened out validation procedure to make sure all of the information is submitted at the start of the application process, to avoid important information being submitted later which confuses people and delays the decision.

You can find more information below including a checklist and requirements for applications to pass the validation procedure.

However common additional requirements are:

Flood Risk Assessments

The Environment Agency website has up to date information about flood risk assessments including maps showing where flooding is likely.

Environmental Impact Assessment

An Environmental Impact Assessment may be required for applications, but the requirements are complex.

Traffic Impact Assessment

A Traffic Impact Assessment may be required where there will be a lot of new vehicular movements - such as in new housing developments.
