Information about licensing of caravan sites and details of caravan sites available for the travelling community.
The Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act 1960 prohibits the use of any land as a caravan site, unless it has a licence.

Our Private Sector Housing team inspect certain caravan sites annually to ensure that licence conditions are being adhered to. Complaints from members of the public are also investigated.
There are certain types of caravan sites which do not need to be licensed.
Stockton Council owns and manages a site for travellers called Mount Pleasant Grange, which is located on Bowesfield Lane, Stockton. The site has twenty-seven pitches and each pitch has its own utility block, which consists of a kitchen area, toilet and bathroom facilities.
