Mental Health Matters

Provides supported accommodation for people with mental health problems. Also provides floating support for people in their own tenancies. Provide supported accommodation for vulnerable young people and help them to develop independent living skills. There are 7 units of accommodation with 24-hour support. Referrals through the homeless section, Social Services, Probation Officer or other agencies. Self-referral also possible.

SPACES (English Churches Housing Group)

Scheme run by ECHG for ex-service personnel of any age. The scheme does not discriminate on the amount of time spent in the services. Placements in self-contained flats at Catterick Garrison where residents are offered a wide range of support. SPACES staff will work at finding permanent accommodation anywhere in the UK. Referrals can be made through local Councils and other agencies.

STAGES (English Churches Housing Group)

Scheme run by ECHG. Direct access accommodation for anyone but those with substance misuse issues must be willing to work through a treatment programme. Residents work their way through a traffic lights system and various stages of independent living before moving into their own tenancy. Scheme also works closely with agencies such as Addaction. Scheme is direct access. People can self-refer or a referral can be made through an agency.

Stonham have 21 hostel places in Middlesbrough, which are especially for those with mental health issues and support needs. Referrals can be made through the Mental Health Team, Social Worker or consultant but self-referrals cannot be made. An out of hours on call service is available.
