Roads and pavements

roads

Stockton Council maintains most of the roads and footpaths across the Borough.

We carry out many tasks on your behalf to keep them safe, free-moving and clean. This work includes gritting and snow clearing

In these pages you'll find useful information about these services.

Major roads such as the A19 and A66 are maintained by the Highways Agency.

We aim to ensure traffic moves freely and quickly on all our roads and the Network Management Plan sets out how we will do this by considering the needs of all road users, co-ordinating roadworks and events, reducing traffic growth and monitoring the effects of the plan.
