Important information about changes to the Tax Disc
On 1 October 2014 tax discs were abolished. You still need to tax your vehicle, however, tax discs are not reissued and therefore do not need to be displayed in your vehicle. From Monday 28 April 2014 charges became applicable for registered Blue Badge holders parking off-street in any Stockton Borough Council managed car park, where charges apply. Please read this guidance note for more information The Council may exercise its discretion and issue waivers only in exceptional circumstances, where it is deemed that the vehicle is required to park near to or adjacent to a specified property where waiting restrictions apply. The decision made by the Council will be final, and where any application is rejected, the contractor shall make alternative parking arrangements. A waiver will not be issued where tools and materials can be unloaded from the vehicle. The following list shows examples of reasons a vehicle would be eligible for a waiver. Is there a charge? There is a charge of £10 per day. Any waiver issued should be displayed on the vehicle in accordance with the conditions imposed so that it is clearly visible to a Civil Enforcement Officer from the outside of the vehicle. Failure to do so is likely to result in the issue of a Penalty Charge Notice. The duration of the waiver can be extended by advance notification and payment to the parking office.
