Keeping children safe is your business, my business, everyone's business

SLSCB in line with requirements included within the Children & Social Work Act 2017 are working towards the establishment of a new Safeguarding Partnership with Hartlepool Safeguarding Children Board.

The aim of which is to support Partners to recognise the importance of working with Practitioners via a new ‘Active Learning’ approach, focusing on facilitating and driving action beyond the usual institutional and agency constraints and boundaries. We want Practitioners to develop lasting and trusting relationships with families which will be at the heart of our methodology. This will provide an opportunity to influence front line safeguarding practice as we learn and improve together.

Three months after new arrangements are published SLSCB and HSCB will cease, however until then its business as usual.

SLSCB Vision: The Board will do all it can to ensure that children and young people in Stockton-on-Tees and those we are responsible for elsewhere are kept safe from harm.

SLSCB meets throughout the year, bringing together representatives from various agencies and organisations in Stockton-on-Tees to work in partnership to protect children and young people in the Borough. By sharing best practice and expertise we can ensure that children, young people and their families have access to the right support and services they need.

SLSCB aims to operate transparently and believes it is good practice to make as much information as possible available to the public and its partners. Information and minutes from meetings are therefore available on request unless it would not be in the public interest to do so or would breach confidentiality.
