Alderman Worsley Bursary

The Trust was set up in 1947 under the will of the late John Stapleton Worsley, a County Alderman of the former North Riding of Yorkshire County Council. The Trust was originally to support the education of residents of Thornaby-on-Tees.

Tees Valley Community Foundation now has responsibility for the Fund and operates an annual bursary to support a student from Stockton intending to study a full time undergraduate degree at any UK University.

Yarm Grammar School Trust

This was established in 1983, to help students under 25 with their study costs. The Trustees meet twice a year, each January and July, to consider applications and make awards.

Do you qualify?

If you are a student:

  • Who lives in the parish of Yarm
  • Under 25 years of age and
  • Studying or about to study at University or FE College etc.
