The Big Committee
What is the Big Committee?
The Big Committee is the decision-making core of BMBF, a panel of young people who meet every six weeks to create, discuss and evaluate our initiatives. Our purposes are to work with Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council to make the Borough a great place to grow up and apply a young voice to its decision-making process.
Members of the Big Committee generally head a team of volunteers who focus on a particular issue, be it regeneration, health and well-being or education. The Committee also includes heads of BMBF's other major projects, SBC Correspondents and Social Action.
The UK Youth Parliament and British Youth Council
We are closely involved with the British Youth Council, regularly sending delegates to its North East conventions and promoting its annual ‘Make Your Mark’ campaign to young people of the Borough. The Make Your Mark campaign allows young people across the country to decide which issues Members of the UK Youth Parliament will debate and vote on to be their yearly campaign. Additionally, a place on the Big Committee is reserved for the Borough’s Member of Youth Parliament, currently Tanisha Roy and Deputy Member of Youth Parliament Emily Hill.
