Bookworms support the Mayor's charities at book launch

31 July 2017

Avid readers in Stockton-on-Tees showed their support for the Mayor's charities at the launch of a thrilling new book last week.

On Friday (28 July) local young author Lauriane Povey launched her latest fiction book, Killing You Again, at DRAKE the Bookshop on Silver Street, Stockton.

The book, which is Lauriane's third, tells a dark and mysterious supernatural crime story suitable for young adults.

All profits from the evening's book sales will be donated to the Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees' chosen charities: Cleveland Alzheimer's Residential Centre which provides care and support to people with Alzheimer's, the Motor Neurone Disease Association which funds and promotes global research into the disease, and Meningitis Now, the only charity dedicated to fighting meningitis in the UK.

The Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees, Councillor Maurice Perry, said: "I would like to say a huge thank you to Lauriane and to everyone who bought a copy of her book on Friday night. Their generosity has supported a talented young author as well as my nominated charities, which do so much to help people living across Stockton Borough and further afield."
